Therapy For Chronic Illness, Anxiety, and Neurodivergence in Atlanta, and online across GA, FL, and CO

Helping people with chronic, complex medical issues and pain find joy in their relationships again.

Increase your support, decrease your pain.

While therapy isn't a cure for chronic illness, research shows that strong emotional support can help ease your pain burden. We create a space to process your experiences, develop coping tools, and build meaningful connections that make a difference.

Quality Of Life

Research consistently shows that when people have stronger social support, their pain levels tend to decrease. While each person's experience is unique, the pattern is clear: having supportive relationships helps reduce both physical and emotional pain.

Have you been fighting your body for quite some time?

If. . .

  • you’re always pushing past your limits to get through the day

  • you don’t have the energy for the things that matter to you

  • your body aches, your brain feels foggy, and the life you long to have seems out of reach

  • you have a lot of people relying on you, but you’re not quite sure who you can rely on when you’re struggling

. . . and if you’ve been trying to deal with these issues on your own for a while, it might be time to bring in the reinforcements.

We help clients in Atlanta, Georgia, Florida, and Colorado learn to stop fighting their minds and bodies so they can live the life they actually want to live.

stress related to living in a neurotypical world

Hi! I’m Destiny,

  • My clients usually find me when they’re at a loss for words. Years of feeling misunderstood by their loves ones, doctors, employers, and the world have them with a sense of “why do I even try?”

As a chronic illness therapist with lived experience, I know firsthand what it’s like to lose and find yourself over and over again. Nothing lights me up more than watching clients go from scared and in pain to feeling confident in their ability to ask for help, get their needs met, and form deeper and healthier relationships despite living with chronic medical conditions.

  • Yes, and here’s why. Chronic medical conditions, such as Arthritis, Diabetes, Nerve and Pain syndromes, Lyme disease, gastrointestinal issues like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease, and so many more diagnoses wreak havoc on our nervous systems.

Nervous system dysregulation and stress are a normal part of being human, but chronic dysregulation and stress has been repeatedly linked to an array of chronic diseases.

It’s NOT that chronic disease is caused by stress, it’s just that chronic disease symptoms are made worse by it.

That’s why I work from a mind-body approach called Somatic Experiencing, because trauma, negative life experiences, and positive experiences are all stored in the body. We can access them anytime we want - if we have the right tools in our hands.

I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques in our work together

The goal isn’t to get rod of all stress - that’s impossible. But learning how to navigate it in a way that brings us closer to our loved ones is the main objective of mental health therapy for chronic pain and illness.

  • I offer online therapy for people in Georgia and Florida who want to live beyond the pain of living with a chronic illness. You can click here to set up a free consultation to chat with Destiny.

P.S. Whether we’re working together in-person or virtually, I’m a “shoes are optional” kind of girl. I believe therapy should be as comfortable as possible, for both you and me.

And this is Rachel!
